He was definitely one of the few I considered personally as heroes.

Sorry to hear that. I liked Col. Cooper's wit, wisdom and commentary on all things gun and defense related, as well as social issues. He had a way of cutting through the BS to the essence of things. A "Tell it like it is" kind of guy. Too few like him, IMO.

Never met the gentleman, but I truly found his writings insightful and thoughtful.
