Ok.... so the title might be a bit melodramatic, but I snapped the tip of my Delica off today. We could ask, why, place blame, look for answers where none exist, but ultimately the result is a broken knife. I can't change that.

My Delica was orange, VG 10. The FRN was stained. It was my DIY work knife. I used it that way. It was my faithful companion no matter if I were mowing the lawn or fixing the roof. It was also my 3rd Spyderco and one of my very first real knives. It will be missed.

Hug your Delica a little tighter tonight as you never know what life may throw at you.

(Ok, my Delica was helping me with a plumbing issue and I may or may not have used it in a manner that isn't recommended. That is all I'll say without my lawyer present.)

Nonetheless, I'm bummed.

You can absolutely still use it. Just sharpen the tip into another style. Or send it to get a regrind. Some sharpening services will fix that. Easy way would be use a work sharp with blade grinding attachment or a grinder. As doing it on stones could work but might take a while to remove steel as fast.

It amuses me that people are so critical of the blade:handle ratio of the PM2, while there is so much love for shortened delica blades.
That said, I agree with the previous statements. That little hiccup may not be the death of your beloved knife (havent seen pictures; so don't know how fixable it is); if you've got enough blade left to work with, patch it up & get it back in your pocket
