A few weeks ago my dog, Friend, passed away. She was a great dog -- the best dog I've ever had.

I don't claim to be religious or spiritual, but I believe that probably only God loves me as much as Friend did -- absolutely unconditionally.

Love never dies

It's hard to let go of a dog that you've known
for all of his life, and most of your own,
but you know the day comes when it's time to go home.

Really sorry to hear that. We lost one of ours last year. I can't remember the last time I felt that heartbroken. I have always felt that Dogs love us the way God loves us. It is the only form of unconditional love we can get in our lives bar none. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

You obviously loved her just as much, you can see it in her face.
I once heard it said that the only flaw that dogs have is that they just don't live long enough. Man, I hurt for you.

I am sorry about your loss. Just remember that you took good care of her and loved her. And that she loved you.

I'm sorry to hear that KeithAM.
It's always sad when you have a pet die,one of our dog's, my wife's buddy Willie died the day after Christmas. It's always a huge loss.

Friend has gone to Rainbow Bridge and one day the two of you will be reunited. I am sorry for your loss. Take comfort in the unconditional love Friend gave you, and may the memories of your wonderful times together bring you joy.

Smoke and prayers sent for Friend. I believe Judy is right... Friend is waiting for you. We raise Weimaraner's... and have 3 wonderful companions at home with us now. Can't imagine being without a couple of dogs.

I am sorry for the loss of your sweet & wonderful doggy! Hugs! I am going to include a poem that has helped me in times like this, and I hope it helps you.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I once heard it said that the only flaw that dogs have is that they just don't live long enough.

Second that.

Dogs are simply amazing. They have the ability to communicate without actually speaking, and love longer than their human counterparts. They live for the moment, and they're happiest when they're with their owners.

I sometimes think of dogs as God's four legged angels.

Sending my condolences. I know that someday I will have to face the same thing. My dog is 8, she's been with my wife and I since we were married. She's a basset/rot mix. Real sweetheart.

There is nothing I can say that would ease the pain, but my thoughts are with you. I have a 16 year old Boarder Collie that I cherish every moment with.
