Like many of you, I'm not a big tv watcher but M*A*S*H was one of the best shows ever. I also remember watching Dragnet reruns and him showing up in occasional westerns. He was 96.

RIP Harry. Thanks for the laughs.

RIP. Thanks for all the years.

Dang. I knew it was going to happen (96 is damn old), but that doesn't make it suck any less. He was a great actor who could make you cry just as easily as he could make you laugh. IMO he kept M*A*S*H worth watching in the later years.

True that.

They ran the story of Mr. Morgan's death on the first page of the entertainmnt section in the Atlanta Journal/Constitution.
The first time I've ever seen a tribute/obit on the first page, they usually bury them inside, and some of those where huge stars.
Seems everyone loved Harry.

Semi-interesting trivia: His first (or one of his first) TV roles was on December Bride. His role was then done as a spin-off called Pete & Gladys, which is generally acknowledged as the first TV spin-off.

I read somewhere a while back that an episode of MASH is playing somewhere in the world at every moment of the day. MASH was really the first adult show that I really liked as a kid. Saw all the re-runs. Harry was a pro.

The funny thing is, he had a long and prolific career before most of us ever came to know him.

Anyone remember "Col. Potter's" horse, Sophie? In the last episode he said a tearful goodbye to his horse. It was actually Harry Morgan's horse. He had been raising and training them for some years.

Yep. I remember the horse, but didn't know it was actualy his horse...

I think I have watched every episode 2 or 3 times. Everytime I see a picture of him, it reminds me of my grampa. They could easily pass for brothers...
Gramps died 6 years ago, the day before his 93rd birthday.

R.I.P Harry. You brought joy to millions of people
