I was saddened to hear of entertainer Jerry Reed's passing today at 71 from complications of emphysema. I thought some of you guitar aficionados might like to know.

In addition to his acting, singing, and humor, Reed was one of the most phenomenal guitarists I've ever heard. When Chet Atkins refers to you as the "best guitar player there is", that's saying something.

Rest in peace, Jerry Reed. You made the world smile.

Very sad to hear I just recently "rediscoverd" him on Youtube he was a great player.

I even named my bassett hound Fred. RIP jerry we will mis you

Daggum!!!!
One of my favorite songs is Amos Moses!
I can listen to it over and over!
He was a good actor too!
This is so sad, we're losing all the great ones!

A good man and I second Amos Moses as one of the all time greats!
He will remain through his wrok.
RIP

Sadly, the really talented fellows ,from the days when talent was what made you great, are passing away. Another of my favorites by Jerry was, "She got the Gold Mine, and I got the Shaft."
