Just when the world can't get more depressing, Johnny Ramone has died.
Joey, DeeDee, Johnny, are now jamming in heaven (or the coolest part of hell,
where musicians are allowed to congregate).
Who does this leave? A league of drummers. Markie, CJ... and Phil, unless
Phil is Markie's real name... I need to remember by important 70s history.
It isn't supposed to be this way... It's supposed to be like Spinal Tap,
where drummers explode on the way to the tour bus and the singers and
guitar slingers straggle on, sick but immortal, an army of Keith Richards
zombies forever shambling up onto stage.
Now, I'm gonna go play their albums all day and maybe sniff some glue,
carbona, or be sedated.
Gabba Gabba Hey. :(

After I had posted the first thread telling about the cancer, I kept hearing how he was getting better, but kept his name on Google News alert just in case anything happened. I had been getting a ton of alerts about the new movie, the upcoming charity etc, and I ignored the newest one this morning. Then, first period in school, my friend told me he died. I was pretty bummed out for the rest of the day.

I knew he was going to die I guess, but I was hoping he'd at least live to see Bush be re-elected :(

Adios amigo.

Gabba gabba hey.

Bopping up in heaven. Johnny's greatest fear was that he would retire from music and not be remembered. He wanted to be remembered I'll always remember. The Ramones changed music we're not worthy.

Gabba Gabba Hey

What a shame. The Ramones provided the "soundtrack" for a good part of my misspent youth. Great live shows. Nothing good can last forever. But now I feel so damned old :grumpy:

Now who's gonna keep it beatin' for all us hoppin' cretins?
