It's a very sad day indeed having to say good-by to my old Herman Survivors, I have had them for over 10 years. They took me over hundreds of miles of hiking in the Mountains, fishing and just to work and beating around the yard. Had a blow out the other day, the sole on one just came off, taped it up so I could finish mowing the grass.

Whoever said FBM's don't stab ain't got a clue, the NMFBM went through and into the stump with ease.

One chop and the toe was gone.

Another chop or two and the whole front part of the boot was history.

Looked long and hard to find another pair of boots that were comfortable and finally found these Timberland's. These are the most comfortable boots I have ever put on, haven't even broke them in yet and they are great

Ha ha a warriors death indeed. The Timberland pro series are some comfy boots, I wear the Pro Trekkers.

Lol .... I hope no-one tells you it is easy to re-sole the old fav's ....:D

Those Timberlands look a good replacement though

Herman made great boots and I have worn out a few pair myself. Too bad Wal-Mart bought the company and outsourced all manufacturing to China.

Yeah I know.... Don't get me started on Wal-Mart. :grumpy:

They are all I used to wear, had like 5 pair over the years when I used to work construction, the concrete is hard on boots, Herman Survivors and Red Wings were the boots to have back then (80's and 90's).

I had another pair I bought a few years ago for like 3 months and they just fell apart on me.... :grumpy:
