Just got a call from a fellow collector and good friend. Said Mr. Osborne passed on December 29 in the company of friends and family. Seems the knife world hasn't caught up with the news yet. Treasure the venerable 940 and all of your Barrages, the designer's stopped designing.

RIP Warren. :(

He will certainly be missed... He did leave us with many of his great works, to remember him by.

Very sad knife news. 940 may be my all-time favorite folder. 950 has been in pocket the last 4 or 5 days just to switch things up.

RIP, Mr. Osborne.

RIP. That means this year is his last year of designs. He was my favorite benchmade designer.

If there is one designer that deserves a memorial edition, it’s Warren Osborne. Some of the best designs in BM’s lineup came from his collaborations.

Terrible news indeed. I was going to start the thread early this morning, but I was not sure as. I could not find more information about that a single source.

this is so sad :( I just spend part of the evening rebuilding and cleaning my 940 and 940-1. Love his designs.

RIP.

Just acquired my first benchmade yesterday, a 940, not knowing he past. Glad I own this great knife.

His latest/last design for Benchmade, the Proxy looks to be a very interesting and utilitarian one. Looking forward to it. He was one of the greats.

Sad news, thanks for the update Joe. Benchmade and the knife community benefited from a lot of his wonderful designs. He will be missed.

Very sad news...he will be missed and definitely remembered by tons of blade lovers abroad. RIP

thanks joe to let us know.

It is indeed a sad news. Mr. Warren will be well missed, indeed. 440, 470/477, 940/943, 960, Barrage, etc. His name is engraved on many of my favorites Benchmades as well as many of our heart. RIP.

I picked up a new 940 today and read this just as I got home. Seems fitting to appreciate his work in his memory.
