I haven't bought any new knives for a while due to $. However, I asked for a raise at work and was "granted" one. As a gift to myself I bought a CRKT "Ripple" (a Ken Onion design)and a Meyerco 'MAXX-Q" (a Darrel Ralph design). I really like them both. Two differnt animals for sure. Here are a few bullet points for now. I will post more in depth later.

CRKT "Ripple" - Smoothest knife to open or close I have ever handled. Light, thin, classey, beautiful. I put a nice edge on it. I am really diggin this knife as a after work knife.

Meyerco 'MAXX-Q" - This knife is assisted opening. I took the spring out I just like it so much beter now. It fills the hand nice. Flipper works great, nice hard opening. I have always loved looking at the DDR Gun Hammer. This knife is sweet for the money. This is a for sure work knife.

I went to a brick and morter store with some money and paid way to much for the them both but i'm loving them so.......... oh well :o Hope you like the pics! :D

Thanks guys! I am really liking both of these. The ripple is so smooth, I just can't stop playing with it. It definetly is in the "gentlemans" class of knife IMO. Not a hard use knife.

The DDR Design Meyerco however is definitly a work horse, I really enjoyed useing it at work. I need to thin the edge though, but I don't have a diamond stick for my sharpmaker for the recurve part. Any suggestions?

Well hello Mr. Onion! What a pleasant suprise. This knife has the best action I have ever handled! Nice work!

i love the ripple i had mine all of 3 days til it fell out of my pocket. Only place i went that day was costco.

outcold5, sorry you lost it. I feel your pain. This is a sweet little knife. You will have to replace it soon!

However, it has seriously spoiled me on flipper knives. I went to my nearest overpriced knife shop (The Steel Source) and played with all the flipper knives. I did not find one I liked close to the Ripple. Except the CRKT Eros. It was a bit delicate feeling to me. I would have bought it, however there was a big mess of matireal at the end of the frame lock. A big burr of some sort. It hindered the frame lock from engaging properly. It is all about the IKBS system. It is ridiculously smooth.

I would like a list of all knives AVAILABLE with this Bearing system! I thought it would be fun to research these knives. I thank you for all your help! :D

Nice shots Kodiak. Two great blades from two great makers!!

Thanks for the props !! If you go back to The Steel Source ask them to send that Eros with a burr back to CRKT immediately. I/we don't want any defective products out there . This knife "Eros " has just been launched and as a first production run there are sometimes a few with defects that slip through the cracks . These need to be identified and addressed as quickly as possible and sent back to the factory so that any issues can be corrected and resolved and hopefully never happen again. Thanks for the heads up and the great report !! Aloha!

Do you have any issues with your Ripple locking up if you hold it too tight? On mine if I hold it too tight it does not want to open. I tried adjusting the pivot with no luck.

Other than that gripe I really like the knife.

Well, you do have to keep in mind that if you put preasure on the frame lock part it will put unwanted preasure on the blade. So try to keep your fingers under the frame lock strip when opening.
