Hello All,
I am trying to track down some information on the knife shown in the attachment. Any and all information on them would be greatly appreciated. What I would really like to find out is when they were made and how many were made? As they have the riveted grips that places them post 1962 for that design. One is shown in M.H. Coles Book I which was drawn in 1968 so that would narrow it down from 62 to 68. Does anyone know the actual year or can we get any closer then this?
Schrade Riser Cutter

Thank You all for looking and your time.
All the best

In order to get the exact amounts and dates contact Debbie Chase at Schrade the tel and address are on this site on Schrades home page. I believe these were made during the Viet Nam Years. The last contract company to make the automatic blade orange handled manual schroud cutter military knife was Logan Smyth. However Schrade produced these (shroud cutters) even though they had stopped production of the automatics, who knows perhapes they had to use up the shroud cutter blades they had left or fill a govt contract. These did not fold. One day a friend of mine and I were discussing these knives and a similar camillus ( They also produced the orange survival knives ). We made a bet I said these knives could be taken apart to produce a knife and shroud cutter from one knife by just adding handles. I have attached a pic or the result. By the way this shroud cutter ( or riser )in the pic folds. I had the scrim done as well. I won the bet however we both drank the bottle of Crown Royal he lost. I hope this helps LT
