RIT Dye Grivory?

Im looking at the blue benchmade 530. Im not particularly fond of the blue color, and I am thinking about getting it and dyeing the scales. I just want to know if RIT dye or some other kind will work on grivory. I also want to know if I can take it to a darker blue but not black. Thanks.
