Howdy all! I know this subject has been discussed in the past, I read some previous posts yesterday. After much reading, I went to the Aeromedix website and ordered a Doug Ritter Griptilian Large that should be here in a couple more days.

So, who here currently owns or EDC's a Ritter Grip? I am all over the place with my EDC, lately it has been a Large Classic Sebenza or my trusty old Emerson CQC-7 with spearpoint blade, but after much reading and looking at pictures of this knife I must say I was mesmerized. I own a small plain edge Grip that I bought when they first came out, but I could never get too excited about the 440C steel. The blade shape on the Ritter looks great, and S30V steel seems to be the best of the stainless steels offered right now!

Sorry for the long winded post, just thinking out loud and waiting for the UPS man to show up on Friday (hopefully!) Any input you guys/gals have on this knife will be greatly appreciated! :)

I love the mini that I own. I am thinking about getting the fullsize too. The mini is my EDC at the moment. It opens easily, it is very tight with no discernible bladeplay, smooth in opening and closing, very sharp. Fantastic grip.

"AYE"!!! I love mine. I'm on my second one. The first one (as most of you know) is at the bottom of Cedar Creek lake here in TX. My RSK is my EDC. I briefly switched my EDC recently to a BM630 but have just recently switched back. The RSK is real hard to beat for an all-around EDC. BM certainly classified it properly by making it a black class knife because it is a no-nonsense workhorse made to do a job. I'd say Doug's ad slogan "Everything you need and nothing you don't" describes it pretty darn accurately!

I have the full size Ritter Grip, but it hasn't quite won me over yet. I know this is a strange complaint, but it almost feels too light to me. I wish it felt a little more substantial.

Aye. It replaced a Spyderco Military because of the lighter weight and (alas!) more PC blade shape.

Mine came with a perfectly symetrical edge -- so far as the eye aided by a 3x glass can tell. Very sharp. I have no problem with closing the knife because I instictively use both buttons.

Excellent review Maximus! One of the best written I have read on ANY knife! Just makes me look forward to getting the Ritter that much more! :D

Got the Ritter Grip and Mini-Grip. I EDC'd the large version for about 2 months. It was great. The blade holds an edge, easy to sharpen (I nick the sharp edge and sharpened it out with no problem). Im prefer it over the regular Griptillian versions due to the blade shape that allows for cutting large ojects or holding the blade to do very fine cuts with the tip. I stopped carrying it only to rotate newer blades.
The Mini-Grip is just as good as the large version. It's the typical "lot of knife for its size." Either way, if you like one, you''l like the other. A great knife.

I originally bought one on the second-hand market (one of the original numbered ones). I loved it so much that I bought a second one brand new. As an international buyer, Aeromedix appeared as if they were going to charge an arm and a leg for delivery (the order form only had Fedex delivery), but after my order was placed they contacted me to ask if I would prefer to use the ever reliable and considerably cheaper USPS. That was like icing on the cake. Love this folder. :)

I bought a large MkI a couple months ago, and quickly fell in love with it. The blade shape/geometry/profile is wonderful for almost any chore. Mine came exquisitly sharpened from the factory. The AXIS lock is smoother than any of my other AXIS-locked knives. I loved it so much I bought another identical one that someone didn't want, and saved about 30 bucks to boot.
I really want a mini Ritter next, but still love the D2 cabelas and don't need to add another to the EDC rotation.

Aye^^. I carry mine all over the place, great knife. It really sold me on nice knives (it was my first really decent knife), so now I plan to buy an afck when I get a chance, just to have something to rotate around with it.

:D :D Well the man in Brown showed up today with my Ritter Grip, a day early! I don't know if UPS upgraded my shipping or Aeromedix did, but that was about the fastest I have ever gotten anything ordered online! Hats off to Aeromedix.com for their AWESOME Customer Service!

Now for the knife. It is amazing what a difference a blade style can make! I have had a small griptilian for a year or so and it's a great little knife, but this Ritter Grip is THE BOMB! I just love the shape of the blade, and the S30V steel is wicked sharp out of the box! Other than my Sebenza, I think this has to be the sharpest edge from the factory I have seen! The Axis lock is buttery smooth, and the lockup is ( What else?) Rock Solid! Hats off to Benchmade for one of the Best values in factory made knives, and to Doug Ritter for an Awesome Blade design! This knife will Definitely take it's place in my EDC rotation!

It has the Fool4Blades " Seal of Approval." :) ;)

AYE!!!

Ordered my Rittter Grip Mini on Monday morning and it was waiting for me yesterday. I hope I dont lose this one.

I was so delighted with my EDC mini that I purchased the fullsize. I received it and am very happy. It is solid, feels great in my hand. The grip knurling is coarser as befits its larger size but it is a joy to open and close one-handed. What a great knife!! I am thrilled to own one. "Aye" it is, yet again!

If this is an indicator of BM quality, then I am a BM fan.

After reading about the Ritter Grip on this forum, I ordered one. It was delivered yesterday and I'm carrying it right now. It's an excellent knife and I'm very pleased with it. I'm a BM fan anyway, and this knife is one of the best I've added to my smallish collection up to this point.

I really like the blade shape and the AXIS lock is great of course. I didn't love the scales but they're growing on me already. For what this knife is designed to be, "a practical utility and survival folder at a price that would be affordable", the material used for the scales was the right choice.

Out of the box, this was the sharpest knife I've received.

Another "AYE"!

I just wish it had the thumb hole, the thumb stud catches on my pocket & partially opens when taking it out of my pocket. It also prevents using that last little bit of edge near the handle.

even the polymer handle grows on me because I can casually put it in my pocket with my EDC light and keys and whatever without fear of scratching it...
