I posted a month or so ago about the Grip vs Mini grip. I ended up with an Endura somehow, but am enjoying it very much. However, I want a Griptilian as my next knife. The Ritter grip obviously has a steel upgrade over the 154cm. What is the big difference between the two steels? I see the handle is the same, but blade shape is different. Can anyone give me guidance on this? Thank you.

I have a regular mini grip and a normal sized ritter grip.
the regular grip has a hollow grind whereas the ritter has a high flat grind.
I don't prefer one steel over the other. I like them both.
It should really come down to blade geometry for you. which do you prefer?

Well, the grind is something to think of. I am still a newb in my own eyes here. What are the advantages/differences between a high flat grind and a hollow grind. I am also wondering the blade geometry between the Ritter Grip and the Grip 550, which is a modified sheepsfoot. I have handled the 550 in a shop, but cannot find a ritter locally. Thanks.

gotta love that ritter blade!

I would either get the 940 or the Sequel before I'd go for a Ritter..that is, IF I wanted to, for whatever reason, stick with a Benchmade or Axis locking knife. I DO prefer a high flat grind to a hollow, but the only "must" for me is THIN... The grind on my 550HG is so ideal that I can't consider the Ritter worth the extra cost. $65 vs. $115.. FOr my money, I'd get a Spyderco Military if I diddnt have one. I does not have the "gadget factor" of the axis, but it is the finest knife I've owned do date.

The thinner grind is going to be the better slicer. I'm not quite sure which of the two has the thinner grind. The difference in grind and steel will be negligible to the average user. I've owned both models at one point or another. Go with whichever appeals to you more.
