The other day I had several of my full-size Beckers out and I noticed that the MK2/BK12 filled my hand more than the King. In fact, it seemed to be even larger around than my BK2. I had to check to make sure, and yes, it is larger. Even though the BK2 is 1/16" larger stock, the standard grips of the BK12 make the handle even larger. I haven't taken them apart to get exact measurements, but I did manage a pic. The BK12 is at the top, and even though they're slightly crooked (thumbramp got in the way), you should be able to see the distinction.

I was surprised, because I figured the grips were all the same.

I'm not sure if I like it better with the larger grips, though I figure I'll eventually get the micarta ones and those will slim it down regardless.

Those are the same dimensions as the older Camillus grivory scales, which were larger and more hand filling. Kabar slimmed down the grips on the full size ones with their own grivory. There are actually several people that prefer the older style to the newer style and would more than likely be up for a trade should you want to get Kabar grivory on them if you were so inclined.

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize there was a change in the grips when Ka-bar took over.
