Rivers Edge Para 3

Well everybody was fired up for the Rivers Edge release of their Para 3 exclusive...and the hits crashed the website. Wow, that must be one heck of a knife to add to a collection!
 
FRUSTRATING! to say the least. the site crashed two minutes before the 10:00 release. They actually believed their internet service provider that they could handle the traffic. Well, they are small and new. They'll learn. Overall, I do credit them for striving to do a great job. I Have bought other knifes from them and have been (until today) very happy with Rivers Edge customer service.
 
Never heard of River's Edge, are they smaller? It's often the case websites used to lower traffic become overwhelmed by events such as an exclusive item.
 
Yeah, it’s a relatively small store. They posted pictures of the mayhem during the shipping of the their first run of the Para 3. I was one of those orders and they got it here in 2-3 days plus they threw in a discount for the next time I order something.

I vaguely remember them hinting that this Wednesday is when they’re supposed to get in the second shipment? Today seems early, and the website is up and shows out of stock. It’s a nice Para 3 for $140. I’d almost be inclined to get a second but don’t want anyone else to miss out. There’s supposed to be a strict (1) order per household rule this go round iirc. They’re great to do business with and I’m sure this run will sell out pretty fast, too.
 
REC are the best! Their pre-order process is very smooth, send them an email and you get the knife you want. Not sure what happened with the second release of the olive PM3 today? Yet I am sure they will sort it out

Yeah pretty small outfit. They're pretty active on the Spyderco Facebook groups.
 
I was able to place an order for one. Super happy, I was dreading having to pay secondary prices. Good luck to everyone.
 
The company opened the page for 15 units. Within 5 minutes of going live, the web page failed to limit the number and they had UN-intentionally allowed 65 to be sold. Now, they are in a huge pickle. They don't know how many more they have left. BUT, they are trying to honor all of the sales that went through for that 5 minutes.

Personally, I am pretty upset. I sat and refreshed and still missed the sale!!!! Again. My name was on the list a long time ago, and I did not get filled either time. What a waste of time.

If anybody wants to swap one for a Para3 Burnt Orange Rex 45, let me know.

Same boat with you. Pretty annoyed. Wanted one to see the bronze color. Been refreshing all day and still missed it. Better luck tomorow?

They should have a dedicated drop time with a reliable server. This is frustrating but hey I guess there are better things to come in the future.
Imagine the maddness of a PM2 version..:rolleyes:

Its says on their facebook they “Do” have enough on hand to cover the ones that sold. Hoepfully I read that correctly. Fingers crossed!
 
Wow....they are sold out.

This has been one of the most frustrating drops to follow. First day their server crashed, today they announce they will release in batches throughout the day, tomorrow and day after.

Then now they post saying sold out...lots of lessons to be learned by them if they want any of my $$$$
