Hi folks -

After attending Stomper's Gathering this past May, and getting to fondle jds1's new Riverwoods Companion design, I decided to order one for my wife.

This would accomplish two things; it would involve my lovely wife in my hobby, and I would get to have a RWC in my own kitchen (I know, I am a devil).

Stomper deliverd a BEAUTIFUL knife, exceeding all expectations once again.

Following are pictures of the knife that we have taken since we got it this week.

Stomper out-did himself on the handle scales - they are wonderful! This knife wants to live in a human hand, and it tells you so!

I have become fond of the colored liners I have seen other people order, and so I ordered them for the first time. I think they really accent the burl and add a little splash to the knife.

Stomper's usual perfection in grind, fit and finish.

The blade is just a tick over 3"

and the handle is a little over 4" - perfect!

It weighs in at 3.7 oz alone (5.4 oz with sheath)

And it is .134" thick

The edge came shaving sharp and perfectly ground - I did not even touch this one up before I gave it to the wife - Thanks Stomper!

finally - a picture of the beautiful little sheath that Stomper crafted for this knife. Just wow.

I'll add to this thread as we go - we have already used the RWC for a few kitchen tasks, and we are loving it.

Thanks to jds1 for a great idea for a design, and to Stomper for the impeccable execution of the idea!

best regards -

This has to be the most elegant knife that I've seen John make--beautiful work as always, but the lines are flawless.

I think this is the first time I have seen one of my knives called elegant, I kind of like it!

With those beautiful scales and the brass pins that RWC is most definitely elegant. VERY nice Andy.
