Here's the latest and greatest from the JK workshop... The Riverwoods Companion.

I've only had this knife for a couple of days, but it's already become my new favorite. The 4" handle fills the hand nicely and the 3" blade in 1/8" O1 is stout enough for just about anything. It's very nicely balanced and has a nice heft to it.

The design is sort of Bird & Trout meets EDC. It fits my KSF pocket sheath very nicely for back pocket carry. This knife has seen limited use so far, but has proven itself well it the kitchen as a fine slicer. It handles like your favorite paring knife on steroids. :)

I think the pattern of this knife would also work well in a 3/32" version or with a scandi grind. It's just a very handy size with a very useful blade shape and if you're a fan of the medium sized drop point you'll love it.

Great looking blade buddy, I thought this one looked a winner as soon as I saw it !

My latest blade also has a 3" blade and 4" handle, this does appear a perfect edc size eh and big enough for most tasks !!!

Thanks! Yeah, that size is just right for my needs. This has got to be one of the most useful blades that I own.

Hi jds1 -

Yepper - I'll have to have one of those - I wonder how it would look in maple burl?

best regards -

I think it would look quite nice in maple burl. I just added it to my line, it`s in the 2010 Models sticky at the top of the page.

Great knife!!!

If this had been out there back in January I might never had ordered my Michigan Trail. (A great knife also).

I agree,this knife would be awesome in 3/32" with John's scandi.

ooohh.. man... that is a cool looking knife.. what a great design.. i like the longer handle-shorter blade size ratio... this ones just my style.. i may have to try and pony up some $$..:D

Yep, I'm with Mike. I think I'm going to start setting aside some change to finance one of these. This is a terrific design, and would look nice with maple or walnut handles ...

All the best,

- Mike
