Rivet Screw-up....any Ideas?

Here are some pics of my latest knife. I sanded through the corby rivets (one on each side). I thought I had enough leeway with the sanding, but evidently the female side of the corbys ended up being hollow right up into the head of the rivets. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking about maybe trying to put some silver solder in the middle of the rivets and then sanding them back down but I am not sure if this is the right way to go.
Help!

Well, this brings back memories. It happened to me on the first knife I ever made. I drilled out the resulting void and put a brass pin (a pin tumbler from a lock in fact, as I'm a locksmith during the day) inside, and gently peened it. I think I also epoxied it to be sure. I did the same thing to the other rivet just so they would look the same. The repair was visible, but it didn't look bad - sort of looked like the Bullseye rivets Bob Loveless uses.:grumpy:

Grumpy and rolling eyes symbols added to please my 10 year old son, who is looking over my shoulder and making suggestions....

Greeting's !! Well as another Locksmith and a Knife Maker in My Opinion I Would Drill it Out and Replace it !! you Already have the Location of the Center of the Pin !! Start Small and Work up to the Size of the Post hole you Drilled !! Drill it a Little Deeper with a Rivet Drill Re Do the Screw's and Be Done with it !! I Would Not try to Fix it !! Just Re do it it is Only a Screw !! Why Risk Making the Problem Worse ?? as i said it is My Opinion

:footinmou :) :D

These all sound like good ideas. I like the idea about the mosaic pin, in fact I think this knife would have looked good with them, but unfortunately I don't have any on hand. I think I will end up drilling and counterboring the old rivets and see if I can put some new ones in. Fortunately I do have some corby rivets in the next size up if the drilling and counterboring ends up a little off center. Thanks to all for the replies. -Rick
