Rivets...

Ok, due to an error on my part.....I had to drill out my rivet holes to 1/4" diameter......

I will not scrap this knife......it is mine (for once), the HT and bevels are excellent and it is my favorite design of all time.

So.....as I do not want to use brass or iron rod peened over for my rivets I need to find large enough rivets....

So....I have three rivet holes in my handle.....they are 1/4" in diameter......

I like Loveless and Acorn style rivets....something with a screw and nut.....

Does anyone know where I can get a Loveless or acorn type rivet that will have a 1/4" diameter screw?

The nut size is not an issue...I can deal with that!

HELP!

if it were me I'd go get some 2 ton epoxy & 1/4" SS / copper / brass hardline and make some hollow rivits. or some Copper grounding wire and peen some rivits. :D
otherwise for those things you ask for try some of the knife making supply houses

Either get mosaic pins in 1/4 or 5/16 or use Corby rivets. The Cobby's come in 1/4, 5/16 ,and 3/8.

if you want i can make you a set of 1/4" Loveless bolts. just cost you material and shiping.

Unsure I fuly understand the problem passing through seeing a note giving a fast reply.... this is Miles from of Alaska. If the hole is too big but the rivet head you want is b ig enough and the only concern is the shaft size maybe put tape over one side fill hole with epoxy let set up and re- drill to right size. How it looks is not going to matter and this will hold up fine. If head is not going to cover hole silver solder a brass ‘do dad’ on the end of a rivet or rod a small brass bear or emblem or cut it from stock. The other end needs peening over Unless using threaded rivets, then both ends can have a larger head soldered on. Or cover hole with inlay, and forget this hole-- make another. Now you have ‘add on value’- a decoration. Like- make a slit and inlay a ‘line’ of ivory- exotic wood- space material etc. Just some ideas. Hole it works out.

Flaring tubing is as simple as using a tapered punch and small hammer.
