Man oh man . Sharpened up all the hawks . Grabbed my cheap throwing knife and off to the local shoot I go . No-one throwing ? More room for me . Took me a while to get going and then full steam ahead . Two out of three hawks going in and usually every time with the knife . The knife is too light but I,m not going to cry about a gift . I started to notice a notch in one hawk blade . about 5/32nds of an inch deep . Musta chopped into the other hawk says I . Then I noticed the same notch in just about the same spot on the other hawk . The guys who made the target wrapped a big steel band around the wood stump about an inch back . No biggie when the target was new . Once that wood started to cut up a bit any hawk chopping near the outside was going to get damaged . Now I have a nice semi circular notch in my favourite camp hawk . Its fairly soft and the edge was almost more pushed in and to the side a bit . I am hoping I can carefully hammer it back out a bit .

Might want to address that to give the next guy some warning, would be a really bad way to start the day when trying out a new custom tomahawk.

Cliff its in Ontario Canada . I travel up there once a year for a pretty good trad archery shoot . I,ve been there three years runnung and have never seen anyone use the target except me . It might have been built by a knife thrower where the band wouldn,t be as big an issue . The guys running the event are so busy I don,t want to bother them . I don,t like to complain to volunteers but I may just do it next year .
