Anything made by R.J. Martin is guaranteed to be: A Cool design, overbuilt to last, super sharp, more knife than you expected. I got to see those Avengers at the Blade show, and they are everything I just described. You won't be disappointed if you buy one.

It is all that it is "cracked up to be" and then some. Of course that is true of all of RJ's knives.

I think he is planning on having a few at the New York Custom Show in November.

I have handled the Avenger...it is indeed as sharp as a laser...it's quite "substantial" (which is a good thing :) ), meaning that it is on the large side. It's also quite thick which makes for a good grip...some nice touches too such as the serrated "ramps" at the rear end to facilitate reverse grip.

Here's the standard version next to my Crawford KFF framelock and a Brad Duncan Aftershock framelock.

and the new version with recurve blade.

I handled one at the blade show. They are awesome. I have been carrying a Q36 everyday since Nov. 2001. RJ is just a great knife maker.

I own one.

It rocks. Big, mean, grippy, sexy and smooth. Blade to handle ratio seems to defy physics. Lockup is precise and solid like a vault, as only a skilled custom maker could do.
