I got a Martin Devastator about 6 or 7 weeks ago and have really grown attached to it. It seems to come the closest to the ideal folder for me. I like the sturdy build it exhibits, the razor sharp edge it has, and the perfect lockup it displays. I carried it for a few weeks when I received it, then switched off to another folder, but have just recently come back to the Devastator. Now that it is "in-pocket" I think it will stay there for awhile.

The ....one more time in my title refers to the Stealth Tanto Devastator I just ordered a little while ago! It looks like a sweet blade shape and is double hollow ground. This one is all black except for the screw heads. I don't know what the coating is for it though. Is there anyone out there that has one of these and knows about the coating?

I'll tell you upfront, I REALLY like these folders from Mr. Martin!!

For the Havoc model with the black blade, RJ's website states it's a "black epoxy powdercoat" finish. The finish on your tanto Devastator may be the same, but that's only a guess on my part. Surest way to find out would be to drop RJ a line through his site.

My Stealth Tanto will arrive tomorrow and will give me a matched set of the drop recurve and now the tanto Devastators. I'll be carrying that bad boy once it gets here and know I'll really like it. I do have the same question about the blade coating though as I'm wondering if it is the epoxy coating or something else. I don't guess it really matters at this stage since I've already purchased it , just curious is all.

My next goal is to get the upgraded membership and then post pictures of my little collection! :) :)

Thanks Mr. Martin! Always nice to get the maker of the knife responding. I have received the knife and I LOVE it! I just know that that famous Martin Edge is going to bite me sooner or latter, just like my regular Devastator did about a month ago, just sorta makes the knife more mine in my way of thinking. Anyway it is riding in my right front as I type this and will be my carry knife for a while, probably a LONG while. :D

Say, is that the new 4" Rampage in the middle there?

RJ's knives are very nice to be sure. I really love my Lefty Devastator! The best part about it is that it only gets slicker with use. Of course, I had a thumbplate added (from his Avenger model) because I have managed to scare the crap out of a NKP with a knife I've flipped open. Makes an ever-so-satisfying "C-L-A-C-K" when it does flip open though!!!

I was trying to get on RJ's website today to look at some of his knives, but I keep getting a notice that his domain registration has expired. Maybe someone needs to tell him to renew his domain before someone else swipes it.

Great, thanks. I wonder why I kept getting a broken link yesterday:confused:

Also, RJ, just picked up a Havoc this week and its absolutely wonderful. Beautiful design and execution! It will definitely become my EDC.

Praxis: Glad you like the Havoc. New ideas are percolating in my head...
Blade Show 4 weeks away...It's time to get busy!
