Anyone got a new and older RMD? Had one a couple years ago and regretted selling it and just got one in the mail. The swell mid handle feels more pronounced...either that or I'm so used to mudders I've forgotten! Whatcha think?

I have an old and new one, they're the same. Except for the clip portion of the blade. The old one is rounded and the new one is not.

Sorry to take this thread in another direction, but amflud do you mean that there is no 'false edge/swedge' grinding on the new ones? If so, that is a shame.
Thanks.

Well, you could say the older one has a rounded swedge and the new one has no swedge at all. I still like it, seems to put more steel at the tip.

I think the new RMD will be good for batoning, with the same blade shape than my SY SOD but smaller.

The RMD batons the medium to small stuff awesome, I'm sure it could handle larger stuff I just didnt want to push it.
I cant wait to get my new one Black/Black paper

The RMD is an excellent design, and great Bushcraft blade. It serves a multitude of functions, and feels great in the hand. If I were good with machining, I'd drill some holes in the handle portion of the blade to lighten it up just a bit.
