I wanted to share a positive experience with the group. Some of you may have see a previous post I made regarding my RMD INFI and an issue with the edge. If not, here is a link.

I got some interesting (and it turns out genius) input and suggestions from other members on how to proceed or what could have gone "wrong". I did talk to Lexi explaining what was going on and (of course) she was all "Shush, now. Be still and at peace. All will be made wholesome and good again. Send unto us that which offends and we un-offend-ify it and return it to you with great haste"
Yeah, not a direct quote. Just illustrating how comforting and accommodating she was!
But I didn't send it in. I felt guilty. Weird, I know. BUT!!! I did take some advice from several members that said sometimes the edge can get a little thin and a resharpening could be all I need.
I gave it a shot using 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper. And I learned a few things.
1. People on this forum are experienced, knowledgeable and creative. I thank you for that for the following reasons...
2. First impressions aren't that hard to change.
3. INFI can take a wicked edge. WICKED!!! Like 'Of The East' wicked!
4. People that say INFI isn't all that good for smaller blades and make much better large choppers aren't necessarily right!!! It's just something I've seen posted here and there.
5. INFI is tough. I know, right????
I've been using my RMD a lot since I "fixed" the edge and it most certainly DOES do well in a smaller blade! I've used it for a lot of slicing and smaller tasks with less aggressive chopping tasks on thinner branches and IT. JUST. KEEPS. GOING. It's quite enjoyable!!!
My perspective on this knife has totally changed. I've never been one to name inanimate objects but I might have to give this little darling a nickname...
Something with "INFImous" in the name....?
