Hey Folks,

LOONNGG time lurker.... way to long.... :foot:

I ordered a RMD a few days back and I have been looking for a nice sheath for it. I dropped Armoral Leather and Rain Walker a note to see about them making something for me... But have yet to hear back form them.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a sheath??

I really appreciate any help!

Thanks folks,

- J.

Ps. I looked at Paw Paws Kydex Sheath's, if a Killer Coyote Carbon Fiber Pattern one pops up... I might consider that.

Are you looking for leather or kydex? In no particular order I'd recommend these makers.....

Leather

Chuddy Bear
Armoralleather
Rainwalker
J&G Designs
Rowe's Leather

Kydex

Okuden
Buy Brown
Mashed Cat
Rainwalker
Gunfixr'Joe
Azwelke
Dericdesmond
J&G Designs

Any of these makers would make good choices, some have long lead times for their work so take that into consideration.

I picked up a digi camo pancake sheath from Azwelke. I just put the esee OD green pouch and Molle back on it... It looks awesome! Now if only my RMD would get here!! :p

First off welcome to two way communication in the forums. I was signing in to offer a few suggestions but a-c did a pretty good job. Congrats on the RMD, one of my favorites. An introduction is usually a good idea as is what you are going to be doing with the knife. Leather is nice but doesn't hold up as well to harsh conditions. I happen to be a big kydex/boltron/holstex fan myself. I've ended up making my own sheaths for all my knives. The KCCF pattern is readily available if that is what you want. Just ask the sheath maker. The first post is taking an active role in to a fun harmless addiction.

2nd's on Azwelke. I see a lot of his stuff on the Becker side of the forum and it looks pretty darn good.

As far as I can find, I havent heard anything about a RMD sheath recently via e-mail, we've answered everything to come in. I'll double check tomorrow though. :)

Congrats on the RMD! Its one of my all time favorites out of the Swamp.

Lots of great sheath makers here... I have and love my azwelke kydex with the belt drop loop. Im not a fan of the tek-lok but the drop loop is excellent.

Because a thread without pics is just another thread;

Welcome to the forum Jay. Lots of great options for sheaths. Good luck in your search and let us know what you end up with.

I have always been a fan of the Spec Ops Combat Master. I like it because you can use it for a ton of different knives, all you have to do to make it a great RMD sheath is form fit the little plastic instert.

Those are a great option if all you needed to do was open carry, but they'd be pretty horrendous for any kind of concealment IMO. I'm also not a big fan of the thumb break type retention, I'd rather have friction based retention.

I will send you a PM... Thanks!!

Thanks for the input everyone!

I was heavily active on another forum, and I always ended up just reading what was going on over here. I think that will change, there is a great bunch of people here.

I really appreciate all of the suggestions, it looks like there are a lot of options for me to weight. And, I do have a few weeks while the RMD is being churned out ;)

You folks rock!!

That is one sexy sheath.

I fully agree, I am not a fan of the Tek-Lok either... I think I will pick one of these up, along with a leather sheath!

We gotcha this time! Whoo Hoo! I love it when things come together! :)

The pattern you wanted is a very popular one, I did three at one time recently. I think its the multi carry aspect. And I've improved the dangler strap as well :D

Thanks sir!

Hey kenash, long time! Good to see you around! :) I think I do have a pattern for that knife from a loaner I got many moons ago. Send me a note sometime.

J. Yep! Thats the original! I hope to someday get some more of that type of leather again. I haven't been able to since then. Most shoulder cuts are pretty smooth so when I found that one I snagged it quick. When I do find it, it shows up in the center of the double shoulder, right where the spine is. I suspect that it is an older animal with loose skin, or a Brahman type with the hump.

I really need to stop looking at knives and sheaths.... :foot:

Ssssoooo.... I changed my mind ;)

This is what Mr. Dwayne is going to be putting together for me (plus a fire steel loop)...

Love That Picture!! Whoever took that one did a fantastic job! :)

I have made so many of that pattern, its easily the #1 style over any other I do. Simple, no nonsense, and the handle keeper is removable and replaceable (and it scoots out of the way when the blade is in action)

Sorry, non Rat content, but I couldn't find the RMD pic of the same
