What do you all think? I'm wondering if it will be useful as a fighting hawk or too small. I love my JW.

Starting Monday, August 11, we will have our new Kalihawk available for sale on our website!!! They are ready to start shipping next week. Some of you may already know that this is a project that Ryan did with Doug Marcaida. Doug had a very specific design in mind and RMJ Tactical has built it for him. Small and fast, the Kalihawk will set the standard for martial arts tomahawks.

The Kalihawks will be $425 each and come with a scabbard built for fast deployment. As with all of our tomahawks and axes, they come with a lifetime guarantee.

It looks interesting I'd really have to have specs and see it in someone's hand for reference .

Specs are out (the head is not sharpened on top like the Jenny Wren):

As much as I don't want to like it.......I do. I feel it's just too short, and I like short tommys. With that being said, it's just plain bad ass!! Nice score.

I know Doug is a skilled martial artist and all but I fail to see the value in this personally being so short and relative heavy. I get the cool factor but the function part I need help with.

Cool yes - but kinda short and the value of tomahawks is meant to be increased reach and mass, versus a long blade.
I'll take a kukri thanks :)

RMJ posted a picture on their Facebook with the Kalihawk and the Jenny Wren side-by-side and I like the Jenny Wren better. Handle ergonomics look a little better as does the head shape. That said I can see the Kalihawk could be GREAT for many CQC techniques involving punching and trapping vs chopping.

I got my order in last night and got confirmation and it's also marked as awaiting fulfillment. They were in stock this morning, but now they are out of stock. I amazed they lasted this long. Now, I just have to figure a way to mount it on my bike and wait for some mook to pull out in front of me. I think it will get their attention better than a bell.
