The shrike has a "girthier" grip -- some complain that the Talon is too thin in the grip.
The Talon is longer, heavier, and can hit harder. It's also more difficult to transport because of these factors.
The Shrike offers insulation against electrical shock, the Talon does not.
Neither is light enough to be a good CQB hawk.
I think the Talon would make a slightly better woods tool. For eveything else (like breaching, what they were designed for) the Shrike is the better choice, even though I prefer the looks of the Talon.
