I stared at it for a good 10 minutes & I still can't see it.It's difficult to see at first, then impossible to unsee it. An aesthetic, not a utility issue. However, the irritation does make for a bad first impression. Nevertheless, I'd keep it and turn it into a user.
From the swedge go back to the first rivet. Use a ruler or similar.I stared at it for a good 10 minutes & I still can't see it.
Okay, I see it now. RMJ's are pretty pricey. I would exchange it.From the swedge go back to the first rivet. Use a ruler or similar.
That dagger is sweet!I have quite a few Rmj's. All the rest are pretty much perfect.View attachment 2840204

It's funny, the grinds wouldn't bother me, but I hate it when they do the proud tang sticking out, instead of bringing the scales to the edge and finishing them smooth. Artistic license, I guess.
IMO, it wasn’t worth the post. Just get an exchange if it bothers you. No need to publicly shame a quality manufacturer for a minor production variation.
Yeah, I guess we could be missing something.Unless We're not understanding what they are referring to?
I don't know about that. RMJ's command a premium price. I would expect the same in quality in at the very least, symmetrical grinds. There are a wide range of expectations with serious knife collectors/users. The differences are so slight in this example that I would not care a bit.
I had to have my Bifocals updated.I still don't see It?
Looks like your knife isn't positioned the same in both pictures. Angled.
I do everything by eye, I don't really measure much, any more. been a tool room machinist of some sort, most of my life, and we aren't making Watches here.....
But now, I'm wondering If I need glasses? Haha.
The proud tang is a NO for me, but that's just My tastes.
