RMJ tactical hawk questions.

I'm getting ready to place an order for an RMJ Tactical Hawk for my younger brother.
He ships out to Infantry OSUT training to Fort Benning on August 6th, so I wanted to order it a little before that and have it in time to give to him after graduation.
I ship to MP OSUT training at Ft. Leonard Wood on the 16th of August, So I'm also looking at getting an RMJ of my own as well. I've been saving for these for a while so I need to pick the right hawk to fit our situations and MOS's. Sort of a which hawk and why question I suppose.
(My brother also has Air-born and an 18X SF clause in his contract if that helps)
Basically just trying to get opinions on the different tactical hawks from RMJ from the only people I can think of to ask :D
Thanks in advance -Andrew

EDIT: I realized my Op really only explained why I was ordering from RMJ, without asking very many actual questions.
To Remedy This:

1.My brother will be doing about half and half mounted/dismounted ops. Everything from patrols, securing locations for FOB's and everything else grunt units do. I'm thinking the Kestrel or regular Shrike. Which hawk do you think? Your opinion and why? any criticism welcome. (like it says above he'll probably be high-speed after OSUT if that matters)

2. I'm going in as regular Military Police. My duties will be FOB Security, Greenzone Security, and crowd control in greenzones, along with random police work, insurgent detention, and Roadblock/Checkpoint Security. Most of this stuff starts mounted and involves some foot work once I get where I need to be. I WANT an Eagle talon but I'm not sure I need something that long all the time. I just would like some experience from people who own RMJ's and especially from anyone who's been deployed and used theirs while deployed. Again, constructive opinions, feedback, experience, and criticism VERY welcome. I'm trying not to overthink this but I want to do the research and do it right the first time so I don't end up in A-Stan or somewhere equally shitty with the wrong tool. Thanks again for any help.

I am a retired 18F, and spent a total of 26 years in. I started in the 82d at the age of 17. In addition I own some RMJs and plan to order more. I currently carry a Kestrel due to it's construction and size. It does not offer the insulation from shock hazards as the G10 slabs are bolted to the haft. I would look at the OAL in deciding whether you wish to carry it on your LBE or not. Also, would elec shock isolation be important in urban CQB/DE missions. Although the spike can be handy for some tasks, my next one is going to be sans spike - Loggerhead model. You may wish to order two different models and then you and your brother can compare notes and decide what you like, and what not. Resale value on RMJs is high should you decide to change to a different model. I would get the order in soon in order to get them by August. Also, keep an eye on them when deployed as there is always some shithead who will steal them if given a chance. Good luck and be safe!
