Who's into these babies? I just ordered a 13" Shrike (Desert Camo) this week....I can feel a new addiction taking shape!!! :D

I like them

I'm talking more like 20" - 22" long.

First thing I do when I buy a tomahawk is I replace the handle with something of a decent length.

I was thinking about getting one of these to have in my car when I am on duty.

Those here who have them, what do you think about its use for police work?

I'd like them more if they had longer handles.

And the handle went all the way up to the head, not just a flat piece of stock.

Short handles and inability to choke up are the two things that keep me away from "tactical" tomahawks.

I carried a K5 for awhile. I later down graded a bit to a lighter Gigrich entry tool. I'd probably look at a Shrike as well. The K5 was simply too heavy for the patrol bag.

that entry tool looks interesting, think id rather have a spike hawk.
I dont think I would want a K5 either.

I guess I just have to get my wife to say ok...

I'll be honest when I first looked at these tomahawks I could only see very limited use for them and thought they were a bit 'ninj' in a bad way.

Now though I'm looking at what practical use I could get out of one. I'm a trained Assault Engineer with the Royal Marines, now in the Reserve. We're always looking for better tools for Afghan, from nonferrous lightweight and compact mine prodders to these hawks.

I'm thinking this could be a pretty useful tool for a number of tasks. Anything from creating a hole for a charge to piercing metal containers to create improvised charge containers.

Good to see there's a sense of humor here to.

No hawk is perfect but the RMJ stuff would fill the role very well for a tactical Hawk

They are very tough and you will not break a handle

I had a K 5 heavy duty to say the least but kinda 2 heavy duty I sold it

I love the shrike even thought it has a spike and Its dielectric handle is a huge plus for me when punching through walls.

Just got my Strike S13 today. I 'm thinking it could come in handy with your active shooter gear for breaching. . .
I'm full time range staff so I don't patrol. I may attach it to my counter sniper pack however.
