Hope the fellas in Orlando don't mind, but I like the look of their finish so much, I've managed to duplicate it and am now putting it on my Beckers and ESEEs. Not that the black coating is a bad thing, but I just think a knife looks more like a knife when you see the steel.
Long gone are the days of spending hours putting a satin finish on my blades.
In the interest of not pissing off RMK and giving any hints to would be counterfeiters, I won't detail how I do it. Not that any Beckerhead would do that, but there are some unscrupulous folks out there who lurk around looking for info on stuff like this. Even on the RKS forum, they don't go into any details as to how they have identified a fake Randall on eBay or elsewhere, just so the bad guys don't learn what they are doing wrong and try to "hone" their skills.
