My wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and since she works on my birthday, I told her I wanted a road trip today. We have not been doing any lately, so today we are taking I-80 down to Arthur (150 miles) and coming back Rte 45. Going to check out some small town shops for hatchets, and have a great Amish dinner in Arthur. Hopefully I`ll have some pics to post when we get back.

Have a great B-day tomorrow John. Good luck on your hatchet quest.

Jeff

Sounds like a great way to spend a summer day. Enjoy, and "Bonne fête!" for tomorrow.

All the best,

- Mike

A Road Trip sound's like a Whole Lot of Fun ! I would think the Amish would make a Real Nice Old Style Hatchet "It would be Nice to find a source for Hand Made Amish Tool's Axe's & Hatchet's, Shovel's & Hoes, Have a Good Birthday !

Here is the trading post. They have some factory knives in there, so naturally we started talking knives. The owner said that next year they are going to be carrying only hand crafted items, and that included knives. He asked if I would be interested in putting some of mine in the store on consignment!

Here are my "treasures from the trip. 36" handle Keen Kutter, Vaughn, and a Plumb Boy Scout with perfect markings.

Nice stuff, John! Looks like a great day out. Congrats on the consignment offer - it would be most cool to see a few pieces from your traditional line in an old-style trading post.

What are the plans for those hatchets and the axe?

All the best,

- Mike

I enjoy refurbishing them, I`ve already got quite a few.

The Plumb Boy Scout is one of my favorites. I already had one, but the markings on the new one are much clearer. I really hope the Trading Post deal works out, they seemed real excited about it.

Nice hatchetts. Thats one thing I have never been able to find. Quality used hatchetts at a good price.
