Im trying to decide between the cqc 13 or roadhouse for a edc blade. Id appreciate any input from you guys that own one or both. Ive read the description of both on the emerson website and both appeal to me, however I can only purchase one right now.

The clip blade on the 13 is wicked and very curved. Almost scimitar like. When I first held mine I was scared that the tip might be too fragile, but got used to it. Obviously, don't use it as a pry bar. You would not have that problem with the stout tanto front end of the roadhouse. I fell like the 13 is a little larger in hand than the roadhouse.

I have a Super Roadie and a CQC-13 and I prefer the Roadhouse. The handle feels more open than on the 13 so I'm able to get a better grip on it. They are both awesome knives though.

I'd recommend the Tiger over the 13. Roadhouse is a different animal all together with it's tanto point and slightly bellied straight(ish) edge. Kind of like do I want a 3/4 ton diesel 4x4 or a SS Camaro.

I had a 13 briefly, the lump at the bottom of the handle was too tight for my hand. If you have big hands, or just don't like limiting grips, I'd recommend the Roadhouse.

I love my mini roadhouse my only issue with it is the belly is kind of weird to sharpen.

Although I'm not a fan of either, I do notice the RH seems to have a much bigger following. There must be a reason for it.

I have to admit, I was not a fan of the 15 either, but after all the folks on here loved it so much I got one, then another one in serrated.

Now it is firmly my EDC.

I found the handle of the '13 to be restrictive.

Between the two, I would choose the Roadhouse.

Have you looked at the CQC-8? The cutting edge is very similar to the '13, but the '8 has a stronger point and an open handle that works well no matter how I pick it up.

Whats a thread without pics? This is a Super Roadhouse but you get the idea.

Roadhouse, i like the blade on the 13 but the rear end limits your grip and the roadhouse has a much more comfortable and versatile grip towards the back.

I'm a fan of the 13, but who can resist a roadhouse... this one is a bit large to edc however...

I also only have a Roadhouse. I can tell you that for me, it is the most comfortable handle of all the Emersons I own...

...that and it is in my fr pocket right now ;)
