At first i was entranced by the cuteness of the Roadie, but after a couple of days i found that i missed my Manbug to much to continue with the Roadie, the Manbug out performs the Roadie in all my usual daily tasks and even though the Roadie is a legal carry where i live and the Manbug being a locker is not, i have gone back to my Manbug its is for me perfect, the only thing that comes close is the Dragonfly and if Spyderco made the G10 Dragonfly in slipit form i think that would be beyond perfect. I have an Urban Lightweight and aside from that odd three quarter stop it is a tad to large , the Squeak is better but the blade is not as useable as the Manbug IMO.

Luckily here in Indiana, I can carry anything I want. That being said, I could probably get along just fine with nothing more than my serrated Manbug. I love that little knife!

Nice picture, the Roadie is always smaller than I think it is.

The Manbug is an awesome knife. I do not feel the need for any other knife in its class.

I don't like much about the Roadie. I like what Spyderco were trying to do, making the first knife that is 100% safe for 'International EDC', and whatnot; but by its nature, it's a completely compromised design. Those same features that many think make knives too dangerous for air travel are also the most useful. Taken out of the 'jetset' context, it seems pretty much useless.

I like where Spyderco attempted to go with this model. It is a more "traditional" slipjoint than their other models (UKPK, PITS) and I can only hope this is the first in a long line of developments down this path.

The Roadie seems like it is a tad thick for it's blade width? That's held me back from trying one, otherwise it looks like a nice shape.

I have been carrying my Roady for a few months now and like how it works. The blade thickness is not in the way much, though i did thin the edge a bit. Most of the cutting I do with this knife I do with just the tip. It works great that way!

I like the handle a lot more than the Ladybugs'. I have small hands and can put all my fingers on the handle+choil. Other than the Man/Ladybug thier is no hump so I can put my thump on the back of the blade for more power and control aswel.

N690 is good stuff too! :-)

Nice JD, I may end up giving one of these a try.

I still carry one often as a PC 2nd knife. I go back and forth between the Roadie and the ZDP Manbug.

I have carried mine since the Amsterdam meet. It is an excellent little knife that can handle almost all my daily cutting tasks, more than I expected given its edge length. I too carry it in combination with another knife. Often I grab the Roady first just to find out how much it can do.

8 1/2 months later, I have to say the Roadie has acquitted itself well in oyster shucking duties. Best, robust, and littlest slip joint money can buy.:) Of course, your subjective results may vary....

I still find the serrated Cricket to be the best "keychain" size knife.

I never use it for food purposes of course.

I always forget how small it is too. Then I remember that it was designed to fit the TSA parameters (on a par with the mini SAK keychain I suppose). It's too bad it's original purpose can't be fulfulled, I would love to carry a spydie at 35,000 feet.
