Patrice - On that knife you show, how would that piece be attached to the blade?. Or is is more of an overlay that attaches only at the "guard"?

I'm actually going for the three-dimensional vine and thorn thing with my little piece. Sort of.... Musso Bowie meets Japanese sword meets file-worked chopper.

Like I said - roads less traveled. Maybe for a good reason, but that's why we make the journey.... or something like that.

I am not sure how it is done. On most it looks like engraving but some look like they are applied in some way, maybe like you do it.
