Rob Criswell Swords

I've got a 17" Wak. Very nice piece of A-2 tool steel for the money, I'm very pleased with mine. I'll probably windup owning one of his larger pieces one day.
Stay Safe,
Clyde

I bought one of Criswell's Katanas for a friend. A fantastic "tough as nails" user, but not for anyone looking for Japanese design authenticity. :)

I've got a 16.5" Criswell Wakizashi for "bumps in the night" and like it very much.

The sheath the came with it is also very functional, with large "flying tabs" for retention via the guard. (Note: by drilling two holes [perpendicular to the sword axis] in the tabs, you can attach an extended Master lock and child-proof this sword. That's what I did, and I'll try and attach a pic of my modification when i have a chance).

While its not 100% authentic in terms of Japanese aesthetics & production methods; it is still a beautifully finished and signed piece. And the prices are very reasonable too.

It has been a long time that I've seen this thread...
anyone know Mr. Criswell's site?
His swords looks very nice ;)

I have one wakizashi with the old style laser cut tsuba, one old style katana with laser cut tsuba, one new style tsuba katana, and two tanto. One tanto is rare in that it has a peaked spine.

All of them are made wonderfully and are extremely durable.

Every once in a while you will see on listed for sale on the forums, but not often.

Here is or was my Criswell 27" bladed Katana, now I'm down to my 20" Wakizashi which is also great for those bumps in the night stuff, a friend in Baltimore now owns this Katana, hope he's taking care of her!

The swords/Tantos are very well balanced and cut excellent, hard to beat this value!

I purchased my non-peaked spine tanto from Mr. Graley. He's right, the tanto is superbly balanced. The peaked spine version is not balanced like the regular version.

Drool.... Ok I declare that I'll be officially broke as long as I still have the knife nut bug in my system ;)

Rob took some time off for medical reasons. He seems to be back in the full swing of things. He makes great stuff. I own 7 of his pieces. I have a set of the first gen. versions with the G-10 buttcap with the kydex sheaths (27", 20", 16") and 4 customs. If you get a chance grab some of his work. Great value and durability.

Peace-
Cam

Just got a criswell 28" ti-tsuba from Rob direct last week. I thought I'd be left wanting more of a traditional blade. But this thing is a beast! I've been laying over 2" saplings with absolute ease...and not a scratch on the blade! And the para-cord grip is suprisingly comfortable. For 450.00 it can't be beat.

I have both the Katana and the Wakizashi. I also keep the short one for things that go bump in the night. Suprised how many of us do.
Great workmanship

I just picked up a 28" Katana and a 20" straight blade Wakazashi. Criswell makes real nice pieces.
