I was chatting with some friends and a lot of them had never heard of Rob Hudson of Maryland, I've met him and like him as a person and as a really good Master Smith as well, Ashokan is a great place to meet people! So I thought I'd start this thread and see who had what and what you guys/gals think of him and his knives....here is a pic I snagged from the web....

Gary,

He was featured in a magazine a while back. All the knives and swords looked fantastic. I remember his shop and forge being rather nice also. The way the handles flow into the guards on his knives is part of what catches my eye. The complex damascus is another thing!! I can't find anything I don't like about his work other than probably not being able to afford one

I remember that one Neil, great article, it was a while ago though, and he does have a neat shop, one I believe he made himself.

As to Ashokan, he had visited there a few times, twice while I was there but hasn't been in a while either. His lectures were full of Vim! very passionate in his love for knives, and he does like rather large knives! But I had one of his on my mind for a long time, a small one with about a 3 1/2" blade utility style with nickel bolster and walnut hidden tang handle so sleek looking! But haven't gotten it yet!

The magazine article, I used to have that one but a few years back I went through a purging of my knife habits and got rid of a lot of magazines, sure do miss them now!!

Gary,

I've done the same thing several times over the past 15 years. My wife is a NEAT FREEK so the magazine rack gets changed out once per month :)
