I know that quite a few of us have already written about how great Rob is, and about the awesome quality of his knives. Well, now it is my turn.

I got my Talonite Cetan in the mail this afternoon, and no one has ever been happier to see that red/white/blue USPS package arrive.

For those of you who have never handled one of Rob's Cetans you really owe it to yourselves to do so. It is the most perfectly balanced knife I have ever had the pleasure of holding in my hand. "Exquisite" is not too much of a stretch when describing how the knife fits and feels in one's hand. It is just the right shape and size to perfectly fill its intended purpose... field dressing and caping/skinning game. I can also see this knife being an awesome everday carry for those who want a fixed blade... light, well balanced, smallish, razor sharp!

The sheath is also quite a piece of work. Mine is in carbon fiber concealex, and it fits the knife like a glove. Excellent workmanship.

Even better than the physical product is Rob himself. When I ordered this knife by email a year back, Rob called me within 30 minutes of my placing the order to ask some questions about some of the features and its intended purpose. He made some suggestions that I am very happy to say I followed. We've traded email back and forth in the last 12 months about the progress of my knife. Rob has certainly proven himself to be not only a top notch knifemaker, but also a gentleman!

Long winded, for which I apologize, but I can't remember when I was ever this jazzed up over a single knife!

After many conversations with Rob I have concluded that he is a very good person.
I bought a knife from him. YIKES>>>
He a great person and a great knifemaker.
As are Carson and a few others ...

If I could afford to collect the knives I wanted one of the first things I would think about is who is this person, Do they have what it takes?

I've got two of Rob's knives so far; a Talonite Cetan and a D2 Hawkbill Cetan.
I love them both, but the Hawkbill is the most recent arrival and I'm very impressed with the edge holding quality of the D2. I've cut all sorts of stuff with it (it's used as my daily straight utility knife) and it just keeps going. I have never used D2 before I got this knife from Rob, I think I can see why Bob Dozier uses it almost exclusively.
But, I digress, Rob does such a good job on the feel of the knife and the design is deceptively simple.
Good stuff. I'm in line for more.

Hey AJ, what are the handle scales made of? It looks almost like titanium?

The handle scales are made of titanium and attached with stainless steel screws. Rob milled three grooves into the scales for gripping purposes, each of which is a little bit different in size... very nice/unique look!

Rob definitely is a first-class maker. I am very thrilled with my Cetan, a great looking knife that has a certain elegance to it. AJ hit the nail on the head with his comments - you definitely have to hold one of Simonich's pieces to appreciate the quality of craftsmanship and balance. Add to that, Talonite is "da bomb!"

I also have a second Cetan on order from him and look foreward to receiving it. Rob's definitely a good ol' country boy, an upstanding person, and I'm fortunate to have him as a friend.
