Nice little blade Rob!!

Mine came today from Les Robertson. D2 steel with the boron coating on it...I really wanted to try this coating I keep reading about and this was the perfect opportunity.....:D

If you have not seen this coating before...it is flat black on my knife...I don't know if it comes any other way, supposed to be very scratch resistant, (around 90 + on the RC scale I think)...

Handles are G10 in Black..has a layererd look to them...COOL!!

The sheath system with all the carry options is an added bonus to this fine knife..I am using the horizontal carry on my belt right now..

Makes a great package..........

Awesome Knife!! :)

I'll tell you, I wore my D2 Pikuni with blue/black G-10 to the Ohio show last weekend and every knife maker I talked to asked to see it.

One younger maker had about a dozen small neck knives on his table, he asked to see my Pikuni and was commenting on it when his girlfriend said "I like that knife". Almost to say, why can't you make ones that nice :)

Rob really know how to make them. I'm putting my Dozier NY Special up for sale soon because I never carry it anymore...

Great knife. Great maker.

May be time for another trip to Montana!!! ;)

a trip to Montanna!!...sounds good to me,

How bout a motorcycle ride when the weather warms up again Blues....

I actually had a dream last nite that I went for a visit to Robs house,...
guess I was thinking about my new knife to much:) .....

Hey Rob, does your house have a Trout stream in the back yard????

It did in my dream!:D

also been checking out the handle scales on this knife...I have never handled G10, but theses scales, the more I look at them, are looking like unwoven carbon fiber...I said G10 originally because that is how they were described on robertsons site.....

whatever they are. they LOOK great!!!.........

cpirtle, how do you carry your Pikuni?......

I'd be willing to bet that it's the new layered carbon fiber he's using. Alternates directions so when you contour it you get this nice topographic look - but it would be very odd my Mr. Les to mistake something on a knife... Cool looking knife!

I either carry it on my belt in the awesome CF sheath that came with it or the neck sheath I made for it.

I was carrying it in the neck sheath last weekend.

I probably go neck 9 times out of 10 unless I'm camping. It's really the best neck knife I've ever owned.

I plan to make an SOB sheath for it and a horizontal as well. I also did an open leather dangle sheath for it because I liked the ones that came with my Fallknivens so much.

I've made multi carry sheaths for many people but much prefer to have one sheath for each carry style I like. That way I don't have to be constantly switching them around...

Enjoy your knife, it's definately a keeper.

BTW, it's possible that it is layered CF on the handles, I remember reading somewhere that Rob was working with it. Maybe it was just a typo in the ad.

cpirtle, it is a "keeper" for sure.....thanks for the info...

Mitch, If I remember right, you picked up a Pikuni from Rob at Eugene in Talonite.....you have good taste in knives:D

and I am going to place my bet and say that it is LAYERED CARBON FIBER...

it goes great with the boron blade..

the grind lines all over the blade are very close to perfection...

I beleive he has ground a "few" of these :)

....I think he even does some "side" work for Tom;) :p

David,

I dunno, Rob sure had an interesting day the last time I visited him with a motorcycle. ;)

May have to go via horseback next time.
