Posted on another forum: This was to Jerry Hossom from Rob's wife.
About an hour ago Kristine Simonich called me to tell me Rob had been killed in an auto accident last night, on his way home from a hunt with his brother. I don't know why these things happen to the very best people I know, but the world of knives and my world in particular have lost a brother who can never be replaced. Rob was and will remain a man among men, a very special and talented person.

For those who don't know, Rob was one of the Badlands Group along with Tom, the Strider Guys and me. It's hard to imagine a Badlands without him...

As I learn more I'll post it.

Please join me in remembering Rob in your prayers.

I just read this at the other forum as well.

For those of you that never met Rob, he was one hell of a guy.

He always had a smile on his face, and was always a joy to talk to.

He will be greatly missed. My heartfelt sorrow and prayers out to Rob's family.

Nick

:(
Damn. He was a great guy, and was starting to really see the rewards for sharing his talent. It won't be the same here without him.

I'll keep him and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

I am truely sorry about the terrible news about Rob. The world and all of us will really miss him. The Badlands bunch will really miss him, especially.

George,
Please check with his family and see if there is anything they need or that we can do to help in this time of great loss.
I am saddened and my prayers go out to him and his family.
Robert

Since I made my first knife a little over three years ago, at the age of 15, Rob Simonich was a real inspiration to me, in terms of design, craftsmanship and as a human being.
I never had the chance to meet him, although I really wish I could have. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing... have been in a daze all afternoon. :(
Prayers for his family.

I heard it from Terry Primos

and I too am saddened to hear any news such as this,,
my prayers are with the family and friends.
the saying,,, only the good die young..
is too often true..:(

I knew Rob. He was always quick to give a compliment or encouragement. A metal expert and a success in his own endeavors but still a humble man among his peers. He will be sorely missed in the knife community.

My sincerest condolances to his family. My prayers are out to them.

I never met Rob but, knew his work and heard nothing but good things about him. I'm sorry to know I'll never meet him but, it is good to think that his work and the things he made will go on for many years to come, keeping him alive in a way. My condolences to his family.
