This is an odd knife, and it's not for everybody. If you told me it was a piece of junk, I'd understand why you said it, even though I disagree. It's an ugly duckling (that never quite turns into a swan), but it is an honest working knife with a humble heritage. I really like this knife; it's one of my favorite EDCs. I have the larger version...as you said, it won't win any beauty contest. But it works, and the price is right.

Thanks for the great review. I have a Brown Mule, the same size as yours, and agree that it is a great, no frills working knife. The size is perfect and the plate snaps shut like a trap. I like the wood handle, which I treated with Min Wax walnut stain.
