Of all the hollow handled blades I have seen, these I like the best.

Are they all one piece like Reeves or 2 pieces?

Easily one of the best hollow handled knives ever made.......such a tragedy he doesn't make them anymore

I like the blade profile and shape more than Reeves, but that guard looks awkward, what is the reasoning for its shape?

just a normal 80s oval guard like most the survival knives use to have

From my experiance the guard is not awkward at all. In fact by putting your thumb along side the guard you can very nicely index the blade during use. The handle knurling doesn't bite the handle as agressively as other blades either. Robert Parrish builds a heck of a knife. Too bad they're so hard to come by anymore. His saw works, the blades are tough and hold an edge well, and there is no fear of that handle coming off. I have done things with mine that proove it to me :)

I had a chance to get one of those but didn't have the money at the time. I think it is by far the best of it's type ever made. I did get to handle one and it felt great in the hand. My memory fails me, what type of steel did he use?

i think its 44c
but ive seen them in ats-34 and possably d-2 not sure though

I believe he used 440C. That blade is one my "must have" list. I will have one some day!! ;) Thanks for the great pics -- that blade is meant to be used.
