Could someone help me out on pricing the this knife:

Robert Terzuola hand crafted custom knofe. It is the model 26 "queen Susan" with a Micarta grip and stainless steel fittings. It comes in a custom wood case with a signed certificate from Robert Terzuola himself.

SOCCOM:

What people will tell you it's worth is around $600.00

What will it sell for on the open market is closer to $475.00

Remember, the value of something is what someone is willing to pay for it.

Gents,

Let's please not get into commerce here and keep this purely informational and move on.

Blues, it seems to me that all Les did was answer the question that was asked. I do not believe that it has in any way become "commercial". As a matter of fact, I am very interested in the answer that was given as it gives me more knowledge about what knives are worth in the aftermarket.

Sometimes it's a moderators job to stop problems before they start. This is what Blues was trying to do, no more. A stich in time and all that. Thanks for the feedback, Keith.

OK Guys, I'll bite.

Blues, how would you have written Soccom's question about value of a knife without "commerical" implications.

I guess more importantly how would you answer without a "dollar"(commercial) value (as this is what the question asked for)?

Blues, he wasn't selling it and I wasn't buying it.

I think you should give the people who post the benefit of the doubt before you utilize a pre-emptive "no-commerce" strike.

Well, then it wouldn't be a preemptive strike.

Personally, I think there are more important issues to get worked up over, but you can belabor this as much as you feel necessary.

I made my request, didn't mean for it to be insulting, condescending or accusatory, Les. How you decide to take or interpret it, however, is beyond my control.

Les, I know you enjoy a good argument, but frankly I'm just not up to it so forgive me if I don't rise to the bait.

Blues and/or Spark,

There is nothing to fight about. If you have had problems with value questions turning into commerce problems in the past. Fine, what was or were the previous thread(s) that caused Blues rapid response to warn us away from the "commerce" aspect.

If that/those thread exists. Then Blues you were doing your job.

However, if that/those thread(s) exist and value questions have turned into commercial enterprise. Then shouldn't there be a "Sticky" at the top telling people they cannot ask these questions?

soccom21,

Giving the devil his due, you have heard from one of the most knowledgeable people on the net (or off) on the current value of knives.

Anyone can offer an opinion or speculate, but Les works with buying and selling knives for a living and is one of the most successful at it despite his propensity for acting like a curmudgeon from time to time. (Take it easy Les, it's just "the super moderator" havin' a little fun with you. ;) )

You are new to posting on this forum and we welcome you and your participation.

(I don't know if you are interested (perhaps) in buying or selling the knife you have inquired about, just bear in mind that this forum is for the non-commercial discussion of custom knives. Thanks. Carry on. Mini-rant off.)

I understand about the non-commerciality of the forum and thanks for letting it be known. I was just curious about my knives value and figured there were people here with some ideas. Again I am just asking about the knives value, not trying to sell it here. So if you have seen this particular model, in mint condition, for sale give me an idea for what it sold for.
Thanks
