Here's a shot of a hunter I just finished. The knife is a going to a pass around, should be fun.

4.5" forged 5160 blade, claro walnut handle, stainless guard and pin, 8.5" OAL.

This looks like an absolutely OUTSTANDING user! I can't wait until it's my turn on the pass-around. Thanks again Matt!

First off this knife is really great looking. The handle is stunning to say the least!

I have a question about Claro Walnut.

I had a bunch of claro walnut stabilized and was using my first piece a couple of weeks ago. I ran into a problem where it kept pitting on me. Have you run across claro walnut pitting? Any tips on using claro walnut for handles to avoid pitting?

Thanks,
Sean

Thanks for the compliments guys! Sean, I sent you an email. Blinker, at least it isn't drool on the blade :).

~Sean, my hands are perpetually purple from that damn walnut :).

Got your email. Thanks for the info, was very informative.

Purple hands are worth it for a finished knife handle like the one you posted here!

Thanks again,
Sean

Nice knife - looks a nice clean user and that handle is a winner ! I always had problems with walnut - it usually has large voids, and doesn't stabilise well, etc. But sometimes, a nice piece comes along and it is worth anything you can throw at it. Jason.
