Just today I picked up a two blade Robeson. Here is what I know, or maybe what I think I know.
The main blade is etched with "ShurEdge" and under that "TRADE MARK".
The left side of the main blade tang is marked as follows:
ROBESON
ShurEdge in script font
U.S.A.
The right side of the main blade tang is marked:
622595
1995
Both blades are very thin and flat ground. They also taper very evenly from full thickness at the tang to the tip of the blade, making them look almost delicate.
I would really appreciate any further information such as:
Is this pattern still made?
What was/is the pattern called?
What steel was used for the blades?
What were the scales made from? They appear to be picked bone.
Are ROBESON knives still made? I heard Queen makes them. True?
I think this could become my favorite slipjoint, bar none. This is a really nice knife.
Thanks in advance.
