In case you haven't seen this show yet, it comes on your local PBS station. The show is a contest involving radio controlled robots that are constructed by individuals or teams and put to battle against each other and the awesome "House Robots" in an arena. Kind of a modern day Gladiator contest, just with robots trying to kill each other off instead of people trying to kill each other off. The contest is taking place in England currently, but I understand there is a "Robot Wars" here in America too.
Some of the guest teams are extremely imaginative in the construct of their warrior robots.
The one robot that has garnered my attention most and is the reason for this post is called "Mortis".
His main weapon is a 9" Tanto blade mounted on a steel arm in the ice pick grip. The 'bot stabs down with awe inspiring power with this blade and looks to be a real testament to the penetrating power of a sword tip tanto style blade. I've watched this 'bot inflict terrible damage on other metallic warriors with this blade. His tanto blade easily penetrates Aluminun or soft steel armor plating with no apparent damage to the blade!

Lots of other designs of robots on this show as well with assorted weaponry from pick axes to chain saws to chain flails and maces all seeking a berth in the semi-finals of this contest. Here in Ocala, it comes on at 6:30 pm and 11:00pm weeknights on channel 5. Check your local listings for dates and times.

Anyway, I thought I'd post this for anyone who might be interested in this sort of thing. You know, weapons and carnage and metallic mayhem and that sort of thing.

I tuned in by accident one night and was immediately drawn in and now this show is fast becoming a favorite of mine.

I watched episodes of this show for an entire afternoon. If you are into gadgets, it is definitely a must. I wouldn't want to get caught running away from those little monsters, no sir. The flamethrower's are cool too.

And they had an Elvis robot, now that's class.
