With regard to the Spyderco Roc Cleaver, I recently stumbled upon this new knife and I find it incredibly interesting. Despite that, there isn't much info on this thing, and it appears that it hasn't yet been released. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have any thoughts/insight to share on this knife? I'm interested for sure.

You are correct on that it has not been released yet. I have been waiting for this to come out for a video to see how the proportions look like in hand. Not a fan of the bead blast either, I think satin would look much better. Despite that, it pretty much is the only proper looking folding cleavers coming out(there are other that try to mimic the style but don't look very cleaver-like to me). I really like the concept.

Correct on all counts. I'm interested too, as well as many others. Saber ground VG-10, G-10 scales, Serge Panchenko designer, reversible wire clip. See page 76 of the 2015 Spyderco catalog. Definitely on my short list!

Thanks guys! I'm thinking that if I do indeed pick one up, it will need attention. The blade needs a mirror polish, and the handle needs to be shiny and expensive looking - polished ivory or something black and shiny.

Sal mentioned there were production problems this year. Which is why we haven't seen it yet. Hopefully it's sorted out soon!

I've been pretty interested in this one myself. Would like to see it in someone's hand for a visual.

I'm excited for this one too. But how sweet would it be to see that blade in between two slabs of titanium!

Fingers crossed this one gets released soon. I was really hoping for something nicer than VG10 on the blade though...
