I've been jonesing for a Digicam / Black Paramilitary 2 and finally got one - arrived a few days ago. I really like the PM2, and this makes #3 for me. I have a regular G10 / Satin and a CF / S90V, as well.
Recently when I spotted the new Schempp Rock here on the forum, it called to me. I don't know why, but it just did. I had to have one. I think the blade shape is part of it. So, I ordered one, and it came today. When I opened the package and saw the size of the box and felt the weight, I giggled. Oh boy!
When I took the new Rock out of the box, I channeled Crocodile Dundee and actually said out loud, "That's not a knife.... THIS is a knife!" And, is it ever! Holy crap!
Honestly, I have no idea what I'll ever do with the Schempp Rock. I don't camp or other outdoorsy type activities where this will come in handy. Maybe I should start!
But, it's just a really nice knife that I HAD to add to my collection.
It is SHARP. Slices paper easily. And, the heft just feels good in the hand. The FRN handle shape and surface treatment gives it an excellent grip. The kydex sheath is quite cool, actually. It has a very nice retention "click" when the knife is fully inserted. To remove it, you grip it and push off the sheath with your extended thumb. And, it comes out with a "click."
The Rock is a knife begging me to do something with it! But, for now, all I can think of is just fondling and admiring it.
