Getting ready to purchase one maybe two new Rock Creek Knives from the KNIFEWORKS.COM ...
Wanted a nessmuk style knife (KUDU) and maybe something longer for Zombies (ELAND) ...
ANYBODY have any input on the knives or KNIFE WORKS ?
please feel free to say anything ...
I will use said knives as woods tools as I "creep" around the woods ...
they are not going to be show pieces.
I did look at ONE of their knives ata area knife shop and well liked what I saw
but his price tag was like 125.
like the prices at knifeworks better.:D

I don't know about Rock Creek, but knifeworks are one of the best places you can buy from.I've had many transactions with Roger & the crew down there & have nothing but good things to say about them.Very friendly & professional service.

THANX for the input on Knife works ... had heard good things about them.
thinking the KUDU be a neat knife with that nessmuk look.
like to hear from people who have put them thru their paces and hear how they performed.

CLOSE TO LIKE 80 VIEWS ... WHAT ?
are these Buck Creek knives like mopeds ... fun to ride but do not want to admit owning one ?
I know more people out there own em ...
mmmmm
creep back into brush.

Like anything made in China, it all depends on the QC of the company contracting the manufacturing. Thiers seems to be pretty good from what I've read. I'm not a "Made in China" basher, but just know what you are getting and more importantly what you are not getting. Good luck and give us a good review ;)

I liked where the woods MONKEY had a burrr' on one and it polished off fine ... tells me alot about the steel they be using.
woods monkey ... we got tha same furst name.

I have the Teton clip point folder. It's nice but not outstanding -- worth about what I paid for it (and it was very affordable). But whatever the HWS-2 steel is, it can be gotten very sharp very easily. That suits me as a light user, but it may mean it won't hold an edge for a more demanding user. The fixed blades seem to use HWS-1, which may give you a different result.

Knifeworks is one of my favorite online sites. Great customer service also.

All reviews of the Rock Creek series that I've seen were overwhelmingly positive. And as far as Chinese companies go, Hanwei is good people. :)

I am happy with my Rock Creek Nyala. Have only sharpened some sticks and sliced potatoes while camping but so far so good. I like the stout 1/4" blade and leather handle. Sheath is pretty good too for the price.

I just got the Nyala and the Sable in the mail today. I have whittled with them , and sharpened them up a bit..they get razor sharp very easily. I was worried about this, being that they are stainless, and that can sometimes give me sharpening issues...these sharpen easily.
Overall, I can't believe the quality for the price. I am happy.

I have the Oryx and use it for my big game hunting trips. I love this knife!! Hanwei is a quality company and you can't go wrong.

Interesting review by someone who actually used a Rock Creek to cut.

I will be recieving the Eland tomorrow. Could'nt resist, i think they're superb vfm.
As for how they stand up to use i skinned 4 sheep with the Kudu last weekend & it did the job as well as any other production knife i have, held it's edge very well in fact, the handle profile does look a bit odd but it's fine in the hand (well, fine in my hand anyway)
