Very excited about my latest purchase, I haven't bought a knife in 16 months!

I bought a new knife every 3 0r 4 months for a while, trying all sorts of blades. Kershaw, Benchmade, Cold Steel, Buck, Spyderco, and more. Maybe 20 or 25 in the drawer. I quit when I found the Caly3. That has been my EDC for a good while.

There is something about the Rock Lobster that lured me back in, I've got to have one! Let's see if it edges the Caly3 out of my pocket.:D

Pictures when you get it! :D

The Rock Lobster is a really interesting design. I hope to try one out soon.

I really like the rock lobster and the only real negative for me is the price, strapped for cash right now. Other than that, I really like it. Will probably become one of those knives I buy used down the road.

And definitely pics when you get it!

Is it here yet? Is it here yet? How about now?

I don't know if having the tracking number is a good thing.
Should be here tomorrow, can't wait.

Woot. Be sure to post a comparison pic of the caly3 and rock lobster. I love the caly3, would be cool to see how the two compare.

I apologize, fellas. I took some nice shots of the Rock Lobster, CF BG-42 Military, and the Caly3, tried to load them, and then found out I am not able to add attachments.

I love the knife, dig the color, already lost a patch of arm hair to the beast. A brand new grip style for me, a lot of "useable'' blade. I like the open spine, and how thin it is. Not my favorite style of lock, but lockup feels rock solid. I would like to see a wire clip, if there is a round 2. It definitely gets to go to work tomorrow.:D

Glad you like it. If you send me an email with links to the photos online, I can post them if you'd like. All assuming that is ok in regards to the forum rules.

I posted pictures at New Bonneville Riders. A motorcycle forum i am a member of that just happened to have a knife thread.

Definitely not a safe queen, liking it more every day, sits better in the pocket than a military or a para, has a better blade to handle ratio than a paramilitary for me. It has replaced the Caly3 as my EDC, and that is saying a lot.

If anyone is on the fence about getting one, do it.

Ya I'm really thinking about getting one. I actually really like the look of the lobster. The only thing holding me back right now is the price.

I love all of those knives, Milli, Caly3 and the Rock Lobster. The RL looks very cool. It is simple, to the point and utilitarian.

I see their is the option for tip up/down on the one side, but are there holes on the other side?

Nope. Right hand only, tip up or tip down. Only about half the Spyderhole is exposed on the clip side, making it a bit difficult to thumb open left-handed. The liner lock on mine is stiff enough to be very difficult for me to release with my left index finger, my normal method for unlocking a liner lock left-handed. I can do it, but it isn't easy.

Have to share some Rock Lobster love myself; like many others have said, it's a fantastic knife that is built for heavy utility cutting. It looks heavier than it really is in hand, but it's built pretty solid - and I just love the way it looks both open and closed...
